Paper Cricket

IT'S a SUMMER of CRICKET!

We have just the crafty activity to make your own table friendly cricket match!

First things first! You're going to need a few things...

1. Paper or Cardboard

2. Scissors

3. Pen

4. Sticky Tape

So we have to create the Pitch! The Pitch is the ground that the cricket players play on!

STEP 1: FOLD one third of the paper

(This is where the cricket pitch will begin)

STEP 2: Cut two lines into this fold!

The width of the two lines will be the width of the wickets so you know. The wickets are what the bowler tries to hit to get the batsman out!

STEP 3: Unfold the paper and cut the tab so the pitch disconnects.

It should look like the paper has a tongue!

STEP 4: Push the tab backwards! This is going to become the wickets!

STEP 5: You're going to need a bat!

Draw the outline of a bat, make sure the handle is long enough to hold onto! Cut out the bat and then scrunch or fold the handle part of the bat! you're going to use this to hold onto when playing your mini game of cricket.

STEP 6: You also need a cricket ball!

This one is the easiest! All you have to do is tear off a little corner of paper from another piece of paper. Scrunch it up so it makes the shape of a ball.

And there you have it! You're very own miniature cricket pitch to play off of! How cool!

If you wanted to take it that little bit further, you can also cut out little rectangles and tape them down to your field to make FIELDERS! If you hit the ball into any of these fielders you're out!

The fun doesn't have to stop there! It doesn't even need to remain miniature.

Take it up a notch! Show us what you can make cricket gear out of that could perhaps be even bigger. Maybe you use a larger cardboard roll for the bat? Maybe you make actual stump sized stumps! HOWZAT!
